My Little Brasil : Le Brésil, en français !
This, I believe, was the subject of a story on Telematin 13 June. There must be sites like this for most countries of the world, in French.
Fire people
This past week was firefighter day in France - several programs talking about the work - one on Telematin news on 13 June. I believe they said that 80% of firefighters in France are volunteers. That surprised me. What is it in the US? They are also concerned that not enough are women. I suspect a similar challenge in the US?

PORTRAIT. Mais qui es-tu Manuel Valls? | Dernière minute | Nice-Matin
Hard to compare with the US since we really have nothing like a prime minister; she/he has to be pieced together in the US from several roles. In France, that may give us a Spanish-born prime minister, a Spanish-born mayor of Paris, an Italian-born finance minister, and people like Najat (I forget if she was born in Morocco).
