Gas prices

I looked this morning at the price for non-leaded 95 gasoline. It's 1.53/liter, so that makes roughly 6 euros/gallon so that makes it roughly 8.25 USD/gal.

"Big Names Join Cast of ‘Les Misérables’ Movie" - NYTimes.com

It's curious to see the difference in appeal between stage and screen, even with big names in the later. How will it be received in France, I wonder?

DSK and Conspiracy Theory - NYTimes.com

I am not sure the "average" French person is a lot different than the "average" person in the US. I think Roger COHEN needs to get out more when writing columns like this.

French Press - NYTimes.com

From my experience, listening to a few and judging the many is not the best path toward understanding. I could cite an equal number of people who both know and understand looking in both directions than the people quoted here. It's so hard to resist sweeping generalizations and it surely proved to be the case here.

Book Review - The Greater Journey - Americans in Paris - By David McCullough - NYTimes.com

I don't think anyone has yet captured the full extent of the impact each country and its people, culture, etc has had on the other.
